Dear all,
Only two and a half weeks until Mexico! I'm looking forward to meeting all of you there.
I wanted to remind you of our upcoming on-line training next Thursday, July 17 at 8.30 am NYC/EST (to check the time in your time zone, visit: http://worldtimeserver.com/).
We will be using the program Elluminate for the training, which is a virtual meeting room. Elluminate has a chat room, and it also has the ability for us to speak and hear each other. Please make sure you have a headset to hear us (if you're working near other people), and a computer with a miq if possible so that we can hear your voice!
The training will not last more than an hour, and is a basic introduction to the MexicoYouthForce and the Advocacy Messages of the MexicoYouthForce. We will send out the link & instructions for joining the meeting next week. Attached are two background documents that would be great to read if you have time!
I also wanted to let you know that Burston Marsteller (http://www.burson-marsteller.com), a global public relations firm with an office in Mexico City, has offered to facilitate a day-long pre-youth conference training for the Youth Spokespeople on July 30. This training will go over public speaking, how to interact with media, our advocacy messages, etc. The training will take place at Hotel Seville, alongside simultaneous trainings by the World AIDS Campaign and others.
I know that some of you do not arrive in Mexico City until the 30th, and we will schedule a separate meeting with you prior to the start of the IAC to go over key highlights and messages of the training. At this point, could everyone please let me know when you arrive in Mexico City and if you will be able to attend on the 30th (Alischa and Andrew, I have your flight info already).
