It is established to operate into all countries of A Better Community 4 All (ABC4All) to empower community, promote quality development and sustain freedom, peace, democracy by broadcasting democratic values through accurate, objective news about world's social, cultural, political, economic and environment and world's challenges regardless religious, region, race, ethnic, political, sex, color, as mean to illuminate TRUTH OF WHO WE ARE AND SUSTAIN HUMAN RIGHTS, everywhere we are , everywhere we go and at any time.
Background:
More than one billion people in the world today, the great majority of who are women, live in unacceptable conditions of poverty, mostly in the developing countries such as BURUNDI. Livelihood approaches are basically viewed as a possible means of creation of opportunities to generate income as well as the ownership of assets and social inclusion to reduce the vulnerability of the rural poor. The rural population is largely dependent on agriculture, which is facing a number of converging environmental trends that reduce options, drive migration and threaten the future sustainability of livelihoods, particularly in the most marginalized areas. A deeper understanding of the determinants of poverty, coping measures and of the livelihood strategies adopted by rural communities is necessary to identify pathways for sustainable means of sustenance. The livelihood needs of men and women are always not the same, due to their different roles, responsibilities and resources. So gender sensitive livelihood strategies and programmes are getting identified as the rights of poverty stricken millions. Realising the need to have sustained livelihood approaches for poverty alleviation among women of different countries, various national and international organizations have come up with actions of appropriate strategies and programmes accordingly. The past three decades have witnessed a steadily increasing awareness and interventions from stakeholders to empower women through measures of increasing social, economic and political equity and broader access to human rights and productive resources of credit, market and technologies; in this context best practices of gender sensitive interventions from various parts of the world are to be recognized as sign posts of change.
