A teia da vida demonstra exatamente as relações existentes entre todos os elementos dos sistemas, e que qualquer alteração em qualquer elemento poderá interferir em todas essas relações:

- A natureza funciona através de ciclos, isto é, a matéria parte de um determinado ponto, segue uma trajetória e retorna ao ponto de partida.

- Nos ecossistemas, os organismos e o ambiente interagem promovendo trocas de materiais e energia através da cadeia alimentar e ciclos da natureza.

- Qualquer interferência em qualquer um desses elementos, positiva ou negativa, poderá ser sentida por todos os outros.

O Brasil possui muitos ecossistemas, todos eles importantes para a manutenção do clima, dos recursos naturais da vida. Alguns dos mais importantes são a floresta Amazônica, a Mata Atlântica, o Pantanal e a Zona Costeira.
Brazil possesses many ecosystems, all of them very important for the climate maintenance , and the natural resources of life. Some of the most important are the Amazonian Forest, the Atlantic Forest, the Pantanal (Marshland) and the Coastal Zone.
No entanto, é o país que mais desmata no mundo. Cerca de 50 mil quilômetros quadrados por ano. A destruição dessas matas provocam alterações no clima, empobrecimento do solo, erosão e extinção de espécies de vegetais e animais. As conseqüências disso a longo e a médio prazo são imprevisíveis.
However, it is the country that more clears forests in the world. Around 50 thousand square kilometres yearly. The destruction of those forests provoke alterations in the climate, impoverishment of the soil, erosion and extinction of vegetables and animal species. The consequences of that in long terms and in medium terms are unforeseeable.
