A clinical decision support tool for doctors dealing with sick children, to help quickly calculate the right weight of the child, and then the right drug doses.\\r\\nThis is currently in itunes store (paeds ED)
Background:
When children get very sick we need to treat them in a hurry.\\r\\nTo do this we often have to guess their weight, then calculate the size of every piece of equipment and dose of every drug based on this.\\r\\nWe have created a calculator that does the weight calculation based on age and the WHO average weight charts. \\r\\nAfter this the application calculates the appropriate drugs for a series of clinical situations, along with the appropriate dose of those drugs.
Objectives:
We have created an application on one platform, based on children in the UK.\\r\\nWe would like to export this globally, so that we could have as many versions of the application, wit hthe right average weights for children in any country, and those drugs used in that country.\\r\\nWe are working on a malawi version of this application
Milestones:
Create application for other smartphone OS\\\'s\\r\\nCreate application with weights / drugs doses for another country.\\r\\n\\r\\nCreate a system for people to make this their own in their own locality.\\r\\n\\r\\nUsing creative commons licensing to allow local deployment.\\r\\n\\r\\nSaving lives and empowering clinicians worldwide using the smartphone as a platform.
