Title: Peace through Art Contest Location: Categories: Media Education Peace & Conflict
Status:
In Progress
Timeline:
November 20 08 to November 20 08
Description:
Students will be able to use art to interpret what peace means to them. They can come into the Social Hall on campus and use any art supplies they wish. Facilitators will be trained to lead discussions afterwards in small groups to discuss how students view peace, what global issues are important to them, how it relates to our community, and how we can better achieve unity on campus. We are also hoping to get the Art Department involved to judge and critique the artwork. Engaging students to become global thinkers is the goal of this project.
Objectives:
To get students talking about what global issues are important to them and how better unity can be achieved on campus.
Budget:
$300
Needs:
art supplies (markers, paints, charcoal, water-colors, pastels, crayons, different types of paper)
