Peer education program can be a powerful approach to educating youth and changing their attitudes. It is often said that teenagers receive most of their information about sexual expression from other youth and the media and that peer influence becomes increasingly important as adolescents mature. Peers are an important aspect of an adolescent’s transition to adulthood. As youth move away from dependence on the family, closer ties with their peers give youth the social support they need during these transition years. Therefore the Western Division of The ROyal Bahamas Police Force along with other local Health Departments will hold a Peer Leaders Workshop under the theme \\\" Educating Youth To Educate Each Other\\\"\\r\\n It is anticipated to host over 120 participants from Westminster College, Aquinas College and The Lyford Cay School and other interested youth

Various Topics covered will range from the concepts of Peer Education, to Human Sexuality, Adolescent Health, Counseling, Drugs and the impact of the Media on Youth
Objectives:
To provide Young leaders with the equipment they need to educate, lead and counsel their peers on key issue confronting their age groups

Fourth Peer Leadership Workshop held of its kind, and has been successful according to participants, however evaluation is still ongoing of past participants
