Description:
Project 350 is part of 350.org, stemming from one of the October 24 rallies. In the time leading up to the rally, we collected 750 individual handprints from people who support immideate action about the climate crisi, almost all from within New Mexico (USA). Now, we're focusing on pressuring Obama and other world leaders involved in the international climate meetings (Copenhagen, Dec 7!) to ensure bold climate action! We focues especially on youth, and many of the students involved are in highschool - including Project 350 founder, Akilah. Youth have the power to change the world and make the future what they want it to be!
Background:
Originially Project 350 was a shoots-off of 350.org, a huge international organization. Visit http://www.350.org to see their amazing work. They orchestrated the October 24 rallies - more than 5,000 events in over 180 different countries!
Objectives:
To unite youth to fight for bold climate action, because it defines our futures!
Milestones:
Project 350 Festival on October 24 (but the action didn't end there!)
