Background:
Youth in the Philippines faces challenges of illiteracy, food and health insecurity, inactive state in community and civic engagement, limited prospects and alienation

Objectives:

Mission



RenewIT project hopes to address these challenges by focusing youth development through education, sustainable livelihood, employment and community engagement.

RenewIT project seeks to nurture the well-being of youth, their social and ecological environment.



Vision




RenewIT project envisions the Filipino youth to become educators, leaders, designers, and social entrepreneurs in their communities; the Filipino youth that are equipped with knowledge and skills to address local, global and environmental needs and challenges.



Five Main Goals



To provide out-of-school youth access to education through alternative learning systems and telecenters.

To facilitate youth cultural development through collaboration and innovation.

To focus youth action and civic engagement through local community renewal projects.

To provide platform, facilities and training for youth's life and entrepreneurial skills.

To engage youth in global issues by making them initiate local actions and campaigns.

Milestones:

SMART Goal 1



1st Phase: Establish eSkwela community telecentre with an initial number of students (300).

2nd Phase: Identify Potential satellites for community telecentre.


SMART Goal 2


1st Phase: Build an online platform and network for inter-barangay and wide-network youth development programs.

2nd Phase: Generate community renewal programs from local and wide network youth activities.

SMART Goal 3



1st Phase: Publish and implement the program for Entrepreneurial and Life Skills.

2nd Phase: Identify prospects for community renewal projects that will employ local youth's inherent skills.

Budget:
Pilot Year Budget: PhP250000

Needs:
Facilities such as open spaces, rental meeting rooms, tables and chairs, etc.

Equipments such as netbooks, LCD projector, printer, telefax, copier, digital videocamera, rental audio equipment, modem and router, etc.

Materials such as office supplies, workshop materials, blank CD-R and CD-RW, thumb drives, memory cards, refreshments, etc.

Tools such as gardening tools, cooking utensils, handicraft and repair tools, etc.

Utilities such as DSL subscription, mobile phone subscriptions, power and water service, etc.
