Timeline:
September 20 08 to September 20 08
Description:
It will involve cleaning of the Njoro River. We want to involve the whole community so that we do a thorough job.The aim is to ease the flow water down into the lake...lake nakuru which is home to flamingos in East Africa.
Background:
We have realised that flamingos and other water birds play a crucial role as indicators of the environmental health.Once the birds start dying...then you the next living thing to is man. With the previous trends of drying up of the lake at time........water reducing in volume...we want to facilitate smooth running of water in the Njoro river and with time we shall extend to other tributaries.
Objectives:
1.To open up the river by removing the blockages to facilitate the ease flow of the river\\r\\n2.To create awareness to the locals of the importance of keeping the river free from any form of pollution\\r\\n.3.Help the locals take up responsibility of environmental matters in their area
Milestones:
So far we have the support of other clubs within egerton university.
Needs:
We need the media to assist us in reaching out to more people. We expect to have over 500 people on that day
