Save Hangul Campaign, an initiative of Hangul Conservation Programme (HCP), KGECL, J&K
Background:
With a view to strengthen the efforts for conserving our natural ecosystems and habitats, the KGECL undertakes several field projects as well. These field projects emphasize on mobilizing community involvement and support along with the conservation of the natural resource base.
Objectives:
In the phase of the massive ecological problems that beset our State: shrinking forests, disappearing wetlands, eroding soil, extinction of wild species of flora and fauna, pollution of air and water, one can either despair, or act to halt and reverse them. KGECL has chosen to act.
Milestones:
The Save Hangul Campaign will focus on conservation, lobbying, discussions, debates, conferences, summit, talks, video screenings and many more at our summer capital, SRINAGAR. The Campaign will be the first of such events for the protection of an endangered Species in our state.
