Description:
The project is on HIV/AIDS risky behavior awareness raising for youth who are actively participating on HIV/AIDS risk behavior that make them more vulnerable than other people to HIV infection.The project work to provide information,training,discussion in partnering with local youth group,community,and other stakeholder to raise the awareness of youth on the major HIV/AIDS risk behavior and to directly avert the spread of HIV & AIDS among youth.
Background:
HIV/AIDS is now a global problem, not only public health issues of some countries. It affects every sphere of society, the economy as well as the social setting. These problems are much more sever in Africa, particularly south of Sahara; and Ethiopia is not an exception to this fact, the country is among the countries hardest hit in Africa & globally . In 1984 the first evidence of HIV in Ethiopia was discovered Two years later the first case of AIDS was reported .since then the disease has spread at an alarming rate ,due to such factor as social ,economic, cultural, practices and gender disparity. Presently in Ethiopia an estimate of 1.5 million people are living with HIV, out of a population of 70 million (Ministry of Health, 2004) those living with the disease are mainly in the age group 15-49 years old. These rates have made Ethiopia the third most highly affected country in world , (Ministry of Health, 2004). Considering the above situation the project tries to contribute in it's part in the prevention and control effort of HIV in Ethiopia with information regarding HIV transmission and prevention in order to bring about desired behavioral changes particularly in youth to control and prevent the spread of infection. The project particularly works to increase awareness of youth on HIV/AIDS risk behavior and motivate people to bring about behavioral change to prevent the spread of HIV infection.
PURPOSE:
The project exist to change the awareness of young people on HIV/AIDS risky behavior .

To contribute to HIV/AIDS prevention and control by awareness raising in young people in my community.
VISION:
Inspiring Addis Abeba Youth to prevent/ fight HIV, spreading knowledge to save communities.

GOAL
To increase the awareness of young people on HIV risk behavior.
OBJECTIVES
· To spread information about HIV/AIDS risk behavior prevention method among youth
· To raise awareness on how to prevent HIV/AIDS risk behavior among youth.
To disseminate information on the major risk behavior that leads to HIV infection.
To train youth how to keep themselves and their community from HIV/AIDS risk behavior
· Make a sample survey on the major HIV/AIDS risk behavior
.Provide information on IV/AIDS risk behavior.

2.Preparing Discussion and knowledge sharing on HIV/AIDS risk behavior.
3. Spreading various leaflets and other written material on HIV/AIDS risk behavior.
4.Organizing peer education and awareness raising activities for youth to encourage participation and behavior change
5. Doing a small survey on the major risk behavior youth involve and based on the survey finding providing recommendation.
