Hi everyone! I know we've been very quiet and no progress reports have been posted, We're very sorry about that, had to take a long break because I had to take care of my baby, who was born the day after our last Toughcookie session and posting . We're back now, to finish up the project, and apply for another and hopefully attend the World Youth Congress in 2008 to showcase all we have been doing and be challenged by other youth from around the world!

Please watch out for more on Toughcookie and please feel free to let us know what you think about this projects and any ideas you may have.

[29th March 06]Today we made Meat Pies, Doughnuts, Muffins, Scones and Pasties. This was a bitter-sweet day for the girls because it is their last Practical Baking Class.

[28th March 06]We didn't have much to do on this day, just preparation of the dough we were to use for making Meat Pies, then keeping it in the Fridge for baking the following day.

[27th March 06] The girls met at my house where we baked two delicious cakes! They really had fun mostly because they could remember the recipes so well given that they had learnt them on their first baking class!

[24th March 06] Today we had Jane Olago, a Counselor from Nairobi Women's Hospital, talking to the ladies about the Medical Service s and Counseling the Hospital offers for abused Women and Children. This was also the last day of the counseling sessions.

[21st - 23rd March 06] The ladies learnt how to prepare Sausage Rolls, Meat Balls and Samosas. They had a lot of fun because these were very easy to prepare.

[20th March 06] We had Lydia from Family Planning Association of Kenya who talked to the ladies about the various Family Planning Methods.

Today's counselling session was on child rights by two presenters from CRADLE and one from the Child Welfare Society of Kenya (CSWK).

The ladies had many questions that were answered while some found out for the first time about some rights.

The ladies also learnt that CSWK can help them by enduring the fathers of their children pay for their maintenance. Many plan to visit CSWK.

The members also met Alison Wangui, a psychology student from United States International University (USIU). She has been tied down in college and has not been able to contribute to the project as initially planned. She however plays an advisory role.
