Description:
In the planning stages, members at TakingITGlobal are striving to provide news, creative thoughts and music to people living in other parts of the world. This will be done using the internet and local radio stations, and will aim to inspire and inform others about events and cultural happenings of communities throughout the world.
Internet and community radio stations are untapped mediums. TIG World Service aims to help members express their passions and create positive dialog to insite change and inspire action.
Objectives:
To broadcast news via the internet, and through local radio stations to inform youth around the world about other issues in other parts of the world. This will include both news shows as well as possible music from the local community.
For now, content will be broadcast over the internet on a continuous loop, with new shows weekly. Each weekly show will consist entirely of multiple pieces from local communities.
In future, we aim to broadcast this new via radio so that it may reach a larger audience.
Needs:
People around the world who have technical skills, funding, technology and access to local radio stations. We are also looking for "idea people" or local connectors who will be responsibe for connecting with local activists, funders, technical people, and community radio stations.
