Dorthy and Tony, Mary, Brenda
This is the letter I got last week to work with more disabled children in the Kampala region. I may have to make a plane trip to work in your country for at least two years if I am able
Just updated all on progress and plans
---------- Forwarded Message ----------
Dear Rebecca,
Greetings from the kitega comgmunity center and we do welcome your
effort always.
Its quite a hard question to answer, "wher do we begin?"
With the numerous needs its quite hard to let you know where to begin,
we would much treasure knowing what you would like to do given the
needs at the time.
Could we raise some funds to have the children's programs going on?
Could we also raise funds to have the classroom block for the children
built up?
Could you also help market the produced product by the children at the
center out there to raise more funds?
Rebecca these are just considerations to take, what is needed most is
to raise the support to have the community center running. YOU COULD
SHOOSE THE BEST WAY TO RAISE FUNDS AND DONATIONS LIKE CLOTHINGS ETC.
Did you recieve the snaps for the construction going on for the
classroom block and the budget you may consider having to raise some
funds to complete the site as we are still down and the children lack
space for training.
If not I will attach it and send it.
You may also think of supporting facilitation of the children to
attend school. With resources and all.
Rebecca if you had time we would appreciate you visit us here in
Uganda I think that would provide you with more info. If it is not
possible I will try my best to give you the information.
You may also raise awareness of the center, attract more partners and
donors for the center.
We do welcome volunteers and you could help.
Please cross check my considerations with what you have in mind and
what you can do so we can work out something together on how you can
better help.
We appreciate your concern and appreciate your acceptance becoming a
member of the center, I will only request you do accept the position
kitega community center may decide to offer you.
Best Regards.
David

I I have purchased educational material for the six disabled children.
--some crayons for art journals
--folders for each of them to make the journals
I am trying to get some desks small for the children as well. These desks can be used on the floor in school or at home--they can be versital for easy use
Also, Tony,
I have been hired to work as educational programer through the Un Voltering service with other disabled children. Itis very positive that I could come in a few years there to work perminately as director and government personal if all is well and safe and able. Shall keep you updated on developments as always
I am trying to communicate with UN officials right now that could help Dorthy and Brenda substainially with their projects The UN officials are for the country of Uganda and I am gaining information daily that is going to help me with the development of several of these projects

Dear Rebecca,
Am happy that finally the dream of the many women here are soon coming true. I would like to thank you for the wondorful courage you have given to us. I believe if these women are economically sustainable many problems will be solved like educating childre, prostitution, street children in cities, unemployment levels, AIDS, idleness and poor accomodation. In fact if you educate a woman, you have educated the nation. We shall start at home level and we shall slowly penetrate the whole nation, i do strongly believe that one day every woman and child in uganda will be in a happy and healthy condition.Get to me if you have questions please.
Thank you.

Brenda,
Your explaination is very clear andy thank you for clarifying. I will explain to Tony also that he should not be scared about money at all. Anything like what you have described in your proposal that you showed me concerning these women is a good worthwile project to invest in. If they care about issues like AIDES illiteracy and jobs then I can help you work towards a framework for income generation so we can target all three goals. I am not seeking my own benifit here, but trying to see how I can structure this to help the situation. What is the audience in which they are trying to raise awareness to--the government, there homes
I understand Tony's fear, he also spoke to me about this, but he should not be overly concerned as the mony has already been provided along with the necessary resources
As you did with the proposal, I too, shall be sending you material for your review and all three of us can work togeher towards a solution here to help make the project sustainable, along with educational material for the children. It does not take a whole lot of money to do this at all. I salute your efforts.
I can go ahead and write up a framework, and you can share this with mary as well. I am also trying to write something up for disabled children as some orf the children were describing working with them too and contructing houses for the community. May I make a suggestion that woman help in a community some how in order to generate some income? If at anytime you disagree with the plans please alert me and we can go ahead and ajust to meet necessary criteria and goals
