From 20h00 to 22h00, 21st Sep 2006 @ May cafe, HN: 8 members and 4 visitors joined the 4th meeting

From 20h - 21h30, Sept 7th @ May cafe', HN, 12 VTVV members (+ 1 friend) met to discuss about joining the event in Nam Dinh.
About the event, most basic info can be found at http://www.vietnam2015.org. We will also help with the English version of the website by translating articles from Vietnamese to English. (There is a native speker to edit the translation.)
8 VTVV members registered to come to ND next weekend (16-17/9). 5 will join bicycling activities.
We will leave HN at 1pm on 16th and come back at 6pm on 17th. 2-3 volunteers will stay at the hotel arranged by the organizing board. Others will borrow / rent a room for 1 night resting.
About preparation:
- Anh An (canihelpyou) will make a simple small card for each participant.
- Will ask anh So*n (Silence) to help design a poster (A0) with introduction about the group and a very little bit about the MDG8 (Develop global partnership for development)
- Volunteers will choose most suitable translated articles to make an archive (~30 pages). The archive willl have articles of 4 themes:
* Volunteering
* Volunteers' stories
* Volunteer management and leadership
* MDG8 (Nhung & Oanh will translate 2 more articles for this theme)
We will print about 25 editions of archive to present groups joining in the event.
Fundraising: contribution from volunteers.
Currently we have a small fund of 50.000 VND:
Collected: 10.000d/volunteer x 13 volunteers = 130.000d
Paid: 80.000d (for drinks yesterday evening)

Hôm nay, nhóm VTVV chính thức nhận được thông báo và thư mời đã được chấp nhận tham gia chương trình Góc Việt Nam 2015 - Một sự kiện tổ chức tại Nam Định nhằm nâng cao nhận thức của thanh niên VN về 8 mục tiêu phát triển Thiên niên kỷ. Thời gian: 16-17/9/2006.
Nhóm VTVV có lẽ là nhóm có thời gian hoạt động ngắn nhất đã được lựa chọn tham gia chương trình này.

Work description:

- Create a list of individual translations
- Categorize the translations

- Create a list of articles utilized from each website
- Contact and work with the source websites
[b]01 Publication Assistant:[/b]
- Contact volunteer groups in Viet Nam
- Help design the process of Document distribution
Any volunteer translator of the project interested, please send [b]a draft framework[/b] to me together with [b]an application letter[/b] explain why you are suitable for the position. [b]A brief CV[/b] with basic background information is also required.
The deadline for application is [b]0h00 (Viet Nam time) 9th September 2006[/b]. The assistants will start working on 11th September and finish his/her work on 11th October 2006.

After launching VTVV project on 20th April, we have translated 70 articles. I very much appreciate 24 volunteers involving in the Article Group with your enthusiasm and hard-work.
According to the project plan, we would finish in October with completion of translation in September. However, I have discussed with Nhon and we agreed to stop the translation a little bit sooner so that we can work on editing and pulish the outcomes of the project in time. I should have done these work earlier if time had permitted. So now it's time for us to wrap it up.
As there will be no more assignment, I would like to ask you to finish your translation as soon as possible. There are still some articles untranslated here and I need you to pick one/some of them: http://projects.takingitglobal.org/vtvv/discuss/thread/15614/?start=0
It would be great if I could receive your translation before September 1st, but the deadline for all translation will be September 15th.
I will send you all a project report with comments on your translation by September 30th. Till then, I hope you have time to fill in the Survey (downloadable from the project website, Document section) and please send it to me when you're done. Feel free to send me an email if you have questions.
