Description:
The third annual Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue will take place around the world from September 11-17. On one day during this week individuals and organizations are encouraged to share the values common to all religions. The dialogues, building a critical mass of positive energy and unity, facilitate a greater understanding of our interconnectedness and of our responsibility for each other. Last year during the annual Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue, events were held in Iran, India, Israel, Jordan, Pakistan, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, Australia, the UK, and in several locations in the United States.
The Week of Global Interfaith Dialogue is being held in support of the observance of the United Nations International Day of Peace. The United Nations General Assembly declared that the International Day of Peace be observed on September 21st as a day of global ceasefire and non-violence, an invitation to all nations and people to honor a cessation of hostilities. The dialogues create, in the words of Dharma Master Hsin Tao, the founder of Global Family for Love and Peace and the featured presenter at the dialogue held at the United Nations, “unity and friendship as the basis for future cooperation.”
Objectives:
Bringing together the diversity of our religious traditions in a theme of harmony, and to share the experience of the heart to find that which is common and universal for all of us.
Needs:
Partners and participants to join us in this global event.
