In this project people work together on travel guidebooks that will have a broader scoop on visiting destinations in the world than the regular guidebooks. Besides that they will be more up-to-date and more tailor-made. Anyone can contribute texts or pictures and will get credits for it.
Background:
For ages travel guidebooks have been based on copyright protected content and suffered from being too complete on the one hand and missing data on the other, or containing out dated info.The WritingTravellers foundation wants to change this by realizing an on-line source with travel guide content under Creative Commons license, freely available and editable for everyone. A publisher will be found to offer printed versions of it bases on printing and publishing on demand.
Objectives:
The aim of the WritingTravellers foundation is to realize next generation travel guidebooks that will be written by a wide audience and will be updated constantly in a wiki-like manner. People who want to use a printed guide for their journeys can get a printed copy that will be up-to-date and personalized for their needs.

First guide(s) ready for printing orders: July 2008?
