On 16.08.05, a workshop on ICT Development in Bhutan was held in Center for Information Technology, Royal University. The purpose of the workshop was to get ideas from different computer scientists & senior computer science students on recent ICT Development. The organizers invited young computer scientists form Asian countries. I was invited to the program on the basis of my personal resume floated on the Internet. The workshop started on 16.08.05 at 11.00 am. Mr. Kuenga Jurmi, Head, Center for Information Technology (Royal Institute of Management), was the chief guest and inaugurated the workshop. The workshop was also attended by His Excellency Mr. Enamul Kabir, Bangladesh Ambassador to Bhutan. There were participants from South Asian countries in the workshop. A threadbare discussion on mutual co-operation among South-East Asian Countries on software development in particular & ICT Development in general was discussed. On the second day of the workshop some resolutions were adopted for joint venture amongst youth of South East Asian countries.

On 18.08.05, between 2~3pm I delivered a lecture on “Emerging Technology on Robotics”. I highlighted the techniques that I have developed at UAP on face recognition, object detection, voice recognition, eye movement detection etc. I also highlighted on my future plan on multi-voice detection, recognition of thoughts through tranducers etc.

I forecast a tremendous prospect for investment in Bhutan on ICT Sector especially in the software development.

Bangladesh government is going to arrange an international trade fair in Thimpu in March 2006 and the Bangladesh Ambassador expects that private universities of Bangladesh should attend the trade fair to display the projects and software developed by the students.
