Sponsorship requests
o Application sent to Rotary for the additional $500. Response has not been received yet.
oYCI has indicated that they are willing to provide $250. Tracey and Shanaz will begin approaching individual donors to make up the additional $250.
oThe entire team can approach anyone they think may be willing to donate.
oReceipts will be available through YCI. Donations must be cash or cheque made payable to YCI.
oROM donated a Family pass for a door prize ($70 value)
Submissions
oNumber of submissions
If low number of submissions received can use large pictures and Buttery 2008 Logo at the exhibit. Two people should go and see the pictures prior to the event. Recommendation, Kristen should go because she has seen the Gallery.
Competition promotions
oIt was suggested at the last VAC meeting that we send the contest and event information to Sketch (A centre for at risk youth). The have an art program and some youth may be interested in participating.
oShanaz emailed the poster to a contact at Sketch.
oShanaz posted information about the competition and exhibit posted on Charity Village.
•TakingITGlobal contacted Shanaz and offered to feature the contest winner’s submission in their upcoming issue of Forum Magazine.
oThe magazine theme is Art and Activism.
oIn exchange they asked to set-up a small booth at the event. Thoughts?
Judging
oJessica, the consultant declined being a judge.
oDana and the school trustees have not responded to Tracey’s request.
oYCI Alumni, Denis Calhan, has agreed to be a judge.
oShanaz emailed Tara Tracey to be a judge. No response yet.
oMitsua has agreed to be part of the judging panel.
Suggestions:
The judges should come early to select the winner before the exhibit starts.
Have a viewer’s choice award. Get attendees to select their favourite piece. The winner will receive a the mug and certificate as a prize. Thoughts?

July 7th poster distribution – Shanaz can’t come but will give posters to Tracey. Meeting spot to be determined at next meeting.
Ads need to be placed on Toronto.com, Taking ITGlobal and an invitation to SNAP media sent (Melissa)
Attendance at the July 3rd meeting is very important in order to finalize event details
Note: Jorno no longer exits will need to select a new meeting spot.
