[b]Voluntary work in Myanmar
Though many youths from other countries are involving in social and development voluntarily, in our country, many see it as a kind of thing which earn nothing, just a waste of time. So in our country, we find volunteer organizing and management difficult as few want to invest their time without earning.
It is true especially in former periods as nowadays some youths become interested in working as volunteers as a step in their career ladder, particularly in NGO sector which has higher pay for staffs than any other sector in Myanmar. However, compared to other countries and population of youth in Myanmar , very few engage in non-profit sector relatively.
In fact, civil society is still alive in Myanmar, may be a different form from other kinds in other countries. But, partly due to economic factor, and partly due to suppression of organizational activities, present generation youths rarely involve in social welfare and community development. Instead, they work for themselves or waste their time by doing funny things like playing net game all the time, sitting in teashops for many hours or gambling etc..
So we should promote the knowledge of our peers, young people in Myanmar to fulfill HR needs of the country.
