Announcement: As part of the Youth for Change project, TakingITGlobal has
recently partnered with OFOK NGO which is a recognized non-governmental, non-profit organization
operating in Egypt, as they will be offering free certified online training programs in IT and businees skills for all the 15 mini-grant winners.
OFOK was established in December 2005 with a mission
to help communities empower themselves, and to help individuals develop
their careers and find employment. OFOK is a self funded NGO working on a
self sustainable model and seizing opportunities in development
initiatives taking place in Egypt.

OFOK was established by 15 active members – all youth with a passion for
community development. Accordingly, OFOK decided to specialize in ICT
training so that it would offer its students with training in advanced
technology and thereby ensuring that all future youth ICT professionals
trained by OFOK receive the very best education available.

الفائزون بالمنح الصغيرة



يود TakingITGlobal ومكتبة الاسكندرية ان يشكروا جميع الشباب الذين قدموا مقترحات مشاريعهم للحصول على المنح الصغيرة المقدمة من مشروع شباب من أجل التغيير. لقد تلقينا الكثير من المشاريع المميزة التي تركز على قضايا مهمة يجب التركيز عليها من قبل فئة الشباب. ونامل ان يساهم تطبيق مثل هذه المشاريع في زيادة وعي الشباب بقضايا مجتمعاتهم واعطاءهم إحساس أكبر بالتمكين واماكنية المساهمة في تغيير مجتمعاتهم الى الافضل .

و لقد تم اختيار 15 فائز / ة للحصول على المنح الصغيرة، وقد تركزت مشاريعهم على القضايا التالية: البطالة،والصحة، والبيئة، والتعليم، والديمقراطية وحقوق الانسان، والحوار ما بين الثقافات،والثقافة والهوية

Background:

The Youth For Change Project aims to help youth from the Arab world to become inspired, informed and
involved in issues that affect them. The project will be implemented through a
partnership between Bibliotheca Alexandrina in Egypt and TakingITGlobal in Canada
and will engage youth in cross-cultural dialogue as well as support youth-led
development through local projects. The pilot project launched in Egypt on March
2nd, 2008 and is focused on outreach in 10 priority countries: Egypt, Jordan, Morocco, Tunisia, Bahrain, Yemen, UAE, Iraq, Lebanon and Palestine.
The project aims to achieve its objectives through the following project components:
• The project will facilitate ongoing cross-cultural dialogue through the use of online community tools and spaces provided by TakingITGlobal and InfoMall.
• Facilitation of local Youth for Change Open Forum events where approximately 30 youth will come together in a library, community centre, school or NGO in order to identify key challenges facing youth and how they can be addressed by youth. These sessions will also showcase related guides and online tools to support youth action.
• Two online live chat events will take place to encourage discussion among participants in the priority countries on the following themes:
o ‘Utilizing new media to promote dialogue across cultures’
o ‘Strengthening youth as community Agents of Change’
• Supporting youth-led action projects through Mini-Grant Awards and online training workshops that will leverage the TakingITGlobal Guide to Action and feature case studies of youth who have had experience in implementing community action projects on topics such as youth employment, health and education.
• Selected award winners will receive scholarships to attend the World Youth Congress in Quebec City in order to receive additional support, training and access to international networks focused on supporting youth-led development

يهدف مشروع "شباب من أجل التغيير" إلى مساعدة الشباب من الوطن العربي على ان يجدوا الالهام ويصلوا للمعلومات ويشاركوا بشكل فعال في القضايا التي تؤثر فيهم. ووسيتم تنفيذ هذا المشروع من خلال شراكة بين TakingITGlobal ومكتبة الإسكندرية في مصر، بالاضافة الى مؤسسات محلية في الدول المستهدفة وسيتم من خلال المشروع اشراك الشباب في حوار عبر الثقافات بالإضافة إلى مساندتهم في تنمية المشاريع الشبابية المحلية . ولقد تم تدشين هذا المشروع في 2 مارس 2008 ، في مصر وسيركز على عشرة دول هي مصر، الأردن، المغرب، تونس، البحرين، اليمن، الإمارات، العراق، لبنان، وفلسطين.
يهدف المشروع إلى تحقيق أهدافه من خلال المكونات التالية:
•سييسّر المشروع حوار ثقافي مستمر عن طريق استخدام أدوات ومساحة على الإنترنت يوفرها TakingITGlobal و InfoMall.
•تنظيم منتديات مفتوحة محلية تابعة لمشروع "شباب من أجل التغيير" حيث سيتجمع حوالي 30 شاب/شابة من أجل تحديد التحديات الرئيسية التي تواجه الشباب وكيف يمكن أن يتصدى لها الشباب. وستعرض هذه المنتديات أيضا أدوات على الإنترنت وأدلة لمساندة أنشطة الشباب.
•تنظيم حدثين للدردشة الحية (على الإنترنت) لتشجيع النقاش بين المشاركين حول المواضيع التالية:
o"استخدام وسائل الاعلام الحديثة لتشجيع الحوار بين الثقافات"
o"تمكين الشباب كعنصر تغيير في المجتمع"
•مساندة مشروعات يقودها الشباب من خلال منح صغيرة وأيضا من خلال ورش عمل تدريبة تفعّل استخدام دليل TakingITGlobal للعمل الفعال. وتعرض دراسات حالة لشباب مميزين يملكون الخبرة في تنفيذ مشروعات مجتمعية عن موضوعات مثل عمالة الشباب، والصحة والتعليم.
•توفير الفرصة لبعض الحاصلين على المنح لحضور مؤتمر الشباب العالمي في مدينة كيبك لكي يحصلوا على الدعم، والتدريب الاضافي ويكون لهم اتصال بالشبكات الدولية التي تركز على مساندة التنمية التي يقودها الشباب.

سيتم تنفيذ المشروع بمساندة منسقين ومنظمات محلية في الدول المستهدفة. الشركاء هم:
