Project:
Zero Tolerance

About  About
Title: Zero Tolerance
Location:
Categories: Education

Status: In Progress
Timeline: October 15 04 to May 1 05

Description:
This project was first started by a group of students in the Social Service Work program in Centennial College. Later on the Hispanic Development Council (HDC) decided to keep this project going. What is this Project about? Well there is a big concern in the Education Policy and the main Policy that everyone is concerned about is the Zero Tolerance Policy. What we in the HDC are doing is trying to get the youth input on this policy and the parents input as well. We are doing research on this policy because we want to shape public policy on this issue.

Objectives:
Our goal is to understand the impact or application of this policy towards youth of minority.

Needs:
What we need is more youth input on this policy. We need the youth who have been affected or know someone who has been affected to speak up and tell us how they feel or view this policy. We also want to hear their opinions if whether they feel that this policy is creating a safer school environment for them.
